INSTRUCTIONAL
IN HOUSE PROGRAM
AGES 3 & 4

This league consists one practice/game a week on Saturdays from 9:15 to 10:15.   The first half hour will be practice and second half hour will be a friendly game.   Practice/games will be at Newton Park.

Practice will consist of multiple skill stations by coaches. These stations will have activities that will teach important fundamental soccer skills, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, receiving, etc. These activities will also help develop the kid’s basic motor skills.

Instructional Players need:
•    A size 3 ball
•    Shin Guards
•    Soccer cleats
•    Water bottle

A guardian must remain at the field for the duration of practice and games.
At this age we want them to have fun and learn to listen to their coach. If they do not want to participate we will always encourage, but will not force them. Our goal is to let the players get some energy out and have a blast while doing so.

DD PROGRAM
IN HOUSE PROGRAM
AGES 5-7

The DD League differs from Instructional in that the kids are put on a team that lasts for the entire season. Each team has a coach (or two) that will work with the players in expanding their knowledge of soccer and building on their soccer fundamentals. Like the instructional league, each player’s team will meet on one of two different practice schedules.  Practice and Games will be at soccer at Newton Park. These games will start promptly at 10:30 a.m.

DD Players need:
•    Size 3 ball
•    Shin guards
•    Soccer cleats
•    Uniform
•    Water bottle

The format is to have four 10 minute quarters and to start using a goalie. These games follow most of the basic rules of soccer that they will be playing when the kids progress into the travel teams.

There is also a referee assigned to these games (usually a player from some of our older teams or even the High School.)  While the referee is there to control the game, he or she is also instructed to help the kids learn the game. So you may see a referee allow a player to throw in a ball a couple of times so they can get it right. Again, we don’t feel the scores of these games or which teams win or lose to be very important. It is only important that the kids have fun, learn an appreciation for the game of soccer and that we, as a community, get an opportunity to encourage children of all skill levels while they play a game.

In order to provide a safe and fun learning environment for all our players, a guardian must remain at the fields at all times during games and practices. If your player is a disruption to practice they maybe asked to come sit with their guardian until practice is over so that the rest of the team can continue learning.

While we have been fortunate the past few seasons with nice weather for the most part, just a reminder that we do play in most inclement weather situations with the exception of lightening or poor field conditions. We will notify parents if these situations arise.

TRAVEL TEAMS
AGES 8-15

After DD, kids will then move to our  travel league.  Seasons include 8 games.  Teams will  travel to away games and play against teams from other cities. The kids will be introduced to offsides and will be in a more competitive atmosphere.  Our goal is to improve their soccer skills, work as a team, and compete to win by playing hard with high effort.  We want the kids to improve each season and if they decide to, be prepared to play at the high school level when that time comes.  We like to have fun as a team, but learn the game and compete as well.

Travel Team Players need:

  • U9 - U12 size 4 ball

  • U13 and up size 5 ball

  • Shin Guards

  • Soccer Cleats

  • Water Bottle
